A Tribute to Argentina’s Asado Tradition
In Argentina, Independence Day is often celebrated around the fire, with friends and family gathering for long lunches and traditional asados. More than just a meal, asado represents connection, hospitality, and celebration, values that sit at the heart of La Boca’s dining experience.
Using authentic asador cooking techniques, La Boca honours this tradition through slow-cooked meats, smoky flavours, and premium ingredients cooked over open flame.
The History of Argentina Independence Day
Argentina officially declared independence on July 9, 1816, during the Congress of Tucumán, ending Spanish colonial rule and paving the way for the nation’s future as an independent republic.
Today, Día de la Independencia remains one of the country’s most important national celebrations, marked by patriotic festivities, live music, family gatherings, and traditional Argentine food shared across homes and restaurants alike.
