Raise a glass to freedom with handcrafted Argentine cocktails and wines. La Boca’s bartenders serve up classics like Fernet and Coke, a national favourite, and Malbec wine, known for its bold, rich flavours. Enjoy a refreshing Pisco Sour or a traditional Clericó, Argentina’s take on sangria, packed with fresh fruits and vibrant aromas.
Live Entertainment & Festive Atmosphere
No Argentina Independence Day celebration is complete without music and dance. At La Boca, expect live performances and an atmosphere buzzing with Argentine spirit. Guests can experience the rhythms of Argentina through traditional milonga dancing, or simply soak in the vibrant energy that makes this celebration so special.
The History of Argentina Independence Day
Argentina’s fight for independence began in the early 19th century during the Napoleonic Wars, which weakened Spain’s control over its colonies. Inspired by the revolutions in North America and Europe, Argentine leaders sought sovereignty. The May Revolution of 1810 was a crucial turning point, leading to the formation of the first local government independent from Spanish rule.
On July 9, 1816, the Congress of Tucumán officially declared Argentina’s independence. This act freed the nation from Spanish rule and set the stage for Argentina to become a thriving republic. Today, Día de la Independencia is celebrated with patriotic displays, parades, and an abundance of traditional Argentine cuisine. Families and friends gather to enjoy asado (Argentinian barbecue), empanadas, and dulce de leche desserts, reflecting the country’s rich culinary heritage.
